Hey folks! Here's my take on the Martinsville. The Nationwide was off, but will return to action at the next race, Texas. Trucks and Cup raced this time.
Saturday was the Truck race. Darrell Wallace, Jr. won with 97 laps led, followed by Timothy Peters, Matt Crafton with 24 laps led, Erik Jones and Ryan Blaney with 17 laps led. Rounding out the top-10 were rookie Tyler Reddick, Johnny Sauter with 41 laps led, Matt Tift, Alex Guenette and German Quiroga. Austin Hill led 21 laps and finished 26th.
Sunday was the Cup race. Dale Earnhardt, Jr. won with 79 laps led, followed by Jeff Gordon with 130 laps led, Ryan Newman, Tony Stewart with 18 laps and Joey Logano with 60 laps led. Rounding out the top-10 were Matt Kenseth with 2 laps led, Clint Bowyer with 33 laps led, Denny Hamlin with 68 laps led, AJ Allmendinger and David Ragan. Jamie McMurray was 16th with 84 laps led. Rookie Justin Allgaier was 17th with 4 laps led. David Gilliland led 1 lap and was 22nd. Kurt Busch led 21 laps, but was relegated to a 36th place finish after time off the track from a race problem.

Talladega Weekend
Hey folks! Here's my take on the Talladega weekend. The Nationwide was off, but the others, Trucks and Cup raced there.
Saturday was the Truck race. Timothy Peters won with 31 laps led, followed by Tayler Malsam with 18 laps led, Spencer Gallagher, who got his best finish at 'Dega, rookie Tyler Reddick and Ryan Blaney with 31 laps led. Rounding out the top-10 were Erik Jones with 1 lap led, Chris Fontaine, John Wes Townley with 5 laps led, Darrell Wallace, Jr. and Joe Nemechek with 5 laps led. Jennifer Jo Cobb was 18th with 1 lap led. Michael Affarano led 1 lap and was 24th. Milka Duno was 25th with 2 laps led. That's really her name. She's from Venezuela, so that explains her name. This was on FOX, so I could watch it.

Rounding out the top-10 were Travis Kvapil, Kurt Busch, Marcos Ambrose, Kevin Harvick with 2 laps led and Casey Mears. Kasey Kahne led 12 laps and finished 12th. Rookie Cole Whitt led 1 lap and finished 15th. Denny Hamlin was 18th with 1 lap led. Danica Patick was 19th and led 7 laps. Ryan Blaney led 15 laps and was 22nd. Jimmie Johnson led 84 laps and was 24th. Greg Biffle was 25th with 1 lap led. Jeff Gordon was 26th and led 3 laps. Martin Truex, Jr. was 27th with 1 lap led. David Gilliland was 29th with 1 lap led. David Ragan was 30th with 2 laps led. Dale Earnhardt, Jr. was 31st with 31 laps led. Tony Stewart led 5 laps before a late accident relegated him to 34th. Jamie McMurray led 3 laps before an accident relegated with to 35th. This was Trevor Bayne's last superspeedway race with the Wood Brothers and he ran as high as 2nd, nearly side-by-side with leader Ryan Newman the second time he ran that high. At the end of the race, Johnson spun him and that knocked him back to 32nd, the last car on the lead lap. This race was Joey's first finish outside the top-10 in the Chase this year and he was 11th, so he's close to top-10 in all Chase races.

Charlotte Weekend
Hey folks! Here's my take on the Charlotte weekend! The Trucks were off, so it was a two race weekend. They were night races.
Friday night was the Nationwide race. Brad Keselowski won with 22 laps led, followed by Kyle Busch with 34 laps led, Matt Kenseth with 52 laps led, Ryan Blaney with 14 laps led and Kyle Larson. Rounding out the top-10 were rookie Chris Buescher, Trevor Bayne, rookie Chase Elliott with 66 laps led, Elliott Sadler and Brian Scott. Regan Smith led 9 laps before he finished 11th. Brendan Gaughan led 3 laps and finished 16th. Trevor Bayne was fastest in the 1st Nationwide practice. The names in the top-6 are still the same but there was some moving around. Rookie Chase Elliott leads his teammate Regan Smith still, but Brian Scott's 3rd now, Elliott Sadler's 4th and Ty Dillon's now 5th after his wreck. Trevor Bayne's still 6th by a big cushion over his rookie teammate, Chris Buescher. As long as none of the top-6 miss multiple races, there's still the name lock, which means the names in the top-6 likely won't change. From Chris Buescher down, they're mathematically eliminated from championship. The top-2, Chase Elliot and Regan Smith are the only likely champions. Chase Elliott leads the Rookie of the Year battle. The Nationwide won't race again until next month.

Trevor Bayne, due to no owner points and not being in the top-36 on speed in qualifying, failed to qualify the Cup 6 , which he's scheduled to drive full time next year. He likely wasn't so happy about this. Well, it wasn't that bad a weekend overall for him, especially when we consider how he has MS and that needs to stay at bay for him to race. He was good in the Nationwide, at least. Maybe Talladega, where he's scheduled to race with the Wood Brothers will be better. Kevin Harvick won the race with 162 laps led, followed by Jeff Gordon with 74 laps led, Jamie McMurray with 5 laps led, Joey Logano and Kyle Busch with 41 laps led. Rounding out the top-10 were rookie Kyle Larson with 5 laps led, Ryan Newman with 1 lap led, Carl Edwards with 1 lap led, Denny Hamlin with 22 laps led and Kasey Kahne. Kurt Busch led 2 laps and finished 11th. Rookie Austin Dillon led 6 laps and finished 13th. Rookie Justin Allgaier led 2 laps and finished 15th. Brad Keselowski finished 16th after 8 laps led. Dale Earnhardt, Jr. was 20th after 4 laps led, due to a broken shifter. Rookie Michael Annett led 1 lap and finished 33rd. Next week's the next elimination race in the Chase. Joey Logano and Kevin Harvick are locked into the next round with wins but the other ten drivers, Kyle Busch, Ryan Newman, Carl Edwards, Jeff Gordon, Denny Hamlin, Kasey Kahne, Matt Kenseth, Brad Keselowski and Jimmie Johnson will fight for the remaining six spots, so that means four will be eliminated.

Kansas Weekend
Hey folks! Here's my take on the Kansas race weekend. The Trucks were off this time, so it was two Kansas races.

Rounding out the top-10 were Matt Kenseth with 8 laps led, Elliott Sadler with 37 laps led, Trevor Bayne, Brian Scott with 4 laps led and rookie Chase Elliott. Brendan Gaughan was 13th after 7 laps led. Rookie Chris Buescher led 20 laps before an accident put in the garage for a while and relegated him to a 28th place finish.
