Hey folks! Here's my take on the Daytona weekend.
Friday was the Truck race. Tyler Reddick won with 46 laps led, followed by rookie Erik Jones, Scott Lagasse, Jr., rookies Austin Therialt with 9 laps led and Ray Black, Jr. Rounding out the top 10 David Gilliland with 1 lap led, Brian Silas, Matt Crafton with 1 lap led, Daniel Suarez with 5 laps led and Johnny Sauter. Pole-sitter Ty Dillon led 37 laps and finished 11th. Tyler Young led 1 lap and finished 13th. Ryan Ellis was 16th after an accident late in the race. Matt Tift was 19th due to a rear hub problem. John Wes Townley, Cameron Haley, Timothy Peters, Chris Fontaine, rookie Daniel Hemric and Todd Peck were involved in an accident on lap 48. Ben Kennedy wrecked on lap 20. Rookie Justin Boston wrecked after 18 laps. Austin Hill and Donnie Neuenberger wrecked after 13 laps. Justin Marks drove 12 laps before he crashed out.
Saturday was the Xfinity (was Nationwide) race. Ryan Reed won with 14 laps led, followed by Chris Buescher with 12 laps led, Ty Dillon with 16 laps led, pole-sitter Austin Dillon with 1 lap led and Brad Keselowski with 13 laps led. Rounding out the top 10 were David Starr, Aric Almirola, Kyle Larson with 4 laps led, Ross Chastain and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Rookie Darrell Wallace, Jr. was 12 with 18 laps led. Kyle Busch led 27 laps and was 26th after an accident in which he broke his right leg and left foot. Brian Scott, JJ Yeley, Chase Elliott, Brendan Gaughan and rookie Cale Conley also crashed out. Regan Smith led 15 laps before he crashed and was 35th. Justin Marks, Chad Boat, Scott Lagasse, Jr. Ryan Sieg and rookie Daniel Suarez also wrecked at the time.
Sunday was the Cup race. The Daytona 500, as this race is called is a big deal in NASCAR. All a driver wants is to win the race. A Daytona 500 win and a championship are a driver's biggest dreams. Joey Logano won with 31 laps led, followed by Kevin Harvick, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. with 32 laps led, Denny Hamlin with 4 laps led and Jimmie Johnson with 39 laps led. Rounding out the top 10 were Casey Mears with 1 lap , Clint Bowyer, Martin Truex, Jr. with 1 lap led, Kasey Kahne and Greg Biffle with 2 laps led. Michael Annett led 1 lap and finished 13th. AJ Allmendinger led 1 lap and was 20th. Carl Edwards led 3 laps and was 23rd. Jeff Gordon led 87 laps and finished 33rd. JJ Yeley led 1 lap and finished 40th. Justin Allgaier hit the wall late in the race due to an engine issue and had a blown tire after the wreck. This led to a caution and then red flag. There was a green white checkered restart. Daytona is a track known for the Big One, which came late this time. There was a big wreck on the last lap. Austin Dillon hit Jeff Gordon and many drivers, including Kyle Larson, who was unable to finish Trevor Bayne, Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. and others. Tony Stewart wrecked out with 72 laps complete. Trevor is a full-time Cup driver with Roush in the AdvoCare 6 Ford Fusion this year.

Speedweeks Start
Hey readers. It's baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack! NASCAR, that is. Speedweeks is here. I was told by a woman that runs a NASCAR site how to recap races better, so I plan to include more of the action. Historically, I didn't always put too much in because I was afraid of being wordy, but now I know what recap readers want. Here's my take on all the pre-Daytona 500 action so far.
Saturday was the Sprint Unlimited, which was 75 laps. Practice for the race was on Friday. Kurt Busch was fastest in the first practice and Jeff Gordon was fastest in the final practice. Matt Kenseth won with 21 laps led, followed by Martin Truex, Jr. with 28 laps led, Carl Edwards with 1 lap led, Casey Mears and Kyle Larson. Rounding out the top-10 were Joey Logano, Jeff Gordon, Kyle Busch, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. with 13 laps led and Danica Patrick. Kevin Harvick led 1 lap and finished 11th. Greg Biffle led 1 lap, but was 14th due to an accident. Tony Stewart and Kurt Busch were in that accident as well, which was on lap 67. Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. and Austin Dillon wrecked on lap 61. Aric Almirola had an accident on lap 55. Paul Menard, the pole-sitter led 7 laps and finished 21st due to an accident on lap 45. Jamie McMurray led 1 lap before he finished 24th due to that same wreck. Denny Hamlin, Clint Bowyer, Jimmie Johnson and Kasey Kahne were also involved. Brad Keselowski led 2 laps and was 25th and last due to an accident on lap 22. The race had two red flags. There was Daytona 500 practice earlier in the day. Ricky Stenhouse, Jr was fastest in the 1st practice followed by Sam Hornish, Jr, Trevor Bayne, Aric Almirola, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Greg Biffle, Denny Hamlin, David Gilliland, Danica Patrick and Carl Edwards to round out the top-10. Michael McDowell was fastest in the 2nd practice, followed by Jimmie Johnson, Ty Dillon, Kasey Kahne, Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Paul Menard, Martin Truex, Jr., Landon Cassill and Brad Keselowski to round out the top-10. Ryan Newman, the 15th quickest in this practice had an engine failure.
Sunday was the initial qualifying to set the front row and Budweiser Duels line-ups. Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson are on the front row. If either one has to go to a backup car or requires an engine change, the spot will be taken by a Duel winner. The other drivers were not locked in to the race, but their starting spots in the Duels were determined and so was which Duel they would race in. Every driver's required to race in the Duels.
Wednesday was a day of more practice. Kyle Busch was fastest in the third practice, followed by Jimmie Johnson, Trevor Bayne, Kasey Kahne, Ryan Newman, Brian Scott, Jeff Gordon, Casey Mears, Michael Waltrip and David Gilliland to round out the top-10. Alex Bowman was the fastest in the fourth practice, followed by Kasey Kahne, Trevor Bayne, Paul Menard, Brian Scott, Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch, Ty Dillon, Justin Marks and Michael McDowell to round out the top-10.
Thursday was the Budweiser Duels. Dale Earnhardt, Jr. won the first Duel with 21 laps led, followed by Jeff Gordon with 5 laps led, Joey Logano, Tony Stewart, Clint Bowyer, Kevin Harvick, Kasey Kahne, Jamie McMurray with 1 lap led, Landon Cassill and Cole Whitt to round out the top-10. Matt Kenseth led 32 laps and finished 17th. Trevor Bayne, a full-time Cup driver in the 6 now and the birthday boy that day led 1 lap but finished 22nd due to a wreck with Kyle Larson. AJ Allmendinger and Johnny Sauter also wrecked in this race. Casey Mears had an engine problem in the race. Jimmie Johnson won the 2nd Duel with 40 laps led, followed by Kyle Busch with 21 laps led, Carl Edwards with 1 lap led, Greg Biffle, Martin Truex, Jr. with 1 lap led, Ryan Blaney, Reed Sorenson, Mike Wallace, Justin Allgaier and Danica Patrick to round out the top-10. Bobby Labonte, Sam Hornish, Jr., Jeb Burton and Alex Bowman were involved in a wreck. Josh Wise had an engine issue. The 5th practice was on this day as well. Kyle Larson, Cole Whitt, Michael Annett, J. J. Yeley and Jeb Burton were the only ones in it.

Color Seasons: Clear/Bright Spring + NASCAR preseason
Hey readers! Here's my take on Clear Spring, which is also called Bright Spring. I'll call it Clear Spring here, since that was how I first learned it. The flow season is Winter. With NASCAR starting again this weekend, I'll go into their preseason activities at the end.
Clear Spring is clear and warm. Though these are warmer than Clear Winters, contrast is high because that's how Clear Seasons are. Hair is anywhere from blond to medium brown. Eyes are blue, green, topaz or hazel, usually and bright. Skin is clear and translucent, as a rule. The colors are very bright for these all well. These can wear with black (with another color) due to the Winter flow, bright pink, lime green, turquoise, burnt orange, navy, grey, charcoal, black-brown, soft white, ivory, stone, pewter, silver, icy violet, icy aqua, mint, icy yellow, icy coral, bright salmon, coral, coral red, coral pink, light coral pink, warm pink, mango, deep rose, hot pink, scarlet, strong vermillion, fuchsia, true yellow, brilliant gold, lemon yellow, golden yellow, dark golden orange, emerald, pale yellow-green, kelly green, true green, forest green, lime green, light teal, clear teal, royal blue, bright aqua, bright turquoise, true blue, violet and royal purple are the colors for these. Makeup colors come from palette colors, the reds and pinks are the cheek and lip colors, for example. Rose, blue pink, violet and purple are particularly good lip colors. Pure green and blue are good eye colors, as are for light haired ones nay and coffee brown. Now for bad colors.
Some colors are no good for these. Pastels and browns are too muted. Beige, tan, gold and dusty browns do these no favors as makeup colors. These colors are better left to the softer seasons.
NASCAR has had preseason activity in recent weeks. The Hall of Fame Induction and Fan Appreciation Day occurred recently. The only off-season test was a tire test. Some announcements have come out. Trevor Bayne, they decided, has run in too many race to be Rookie of the Year, even though he has never earned points in the Cup. Though this will be his first year with a full-time Cup ride, he has been in over 50 races. Jeff Gordon will retire and Chase Elliott will be promoted to the Cup after this year. Chase will race in a few Cup races in the 25 this year, in addition to a full Xfinity (formerly Nationwide) schedule this year. Come back next week for my recap of the Speedweeks start.

Color Seasons: Clear/Bright Winter
Hey readers! Here's my take on Clear Winter, which is sometimes called Bright Winter. Clear Winter was the first name I learned, so I'll call it that in the main part, for simplicity. The flow season is Spring.
Clear Winter is clear and cool. They are high contrast, because that's how Clear seasons are. The Spring flow means this season is a little warmer and lighter than other Winters. Clears' colors are insanely bright, so shopping is hard for these people. Celebrities are often Clears. Good colors for these are true light or medium gray, charcoal, black, ebony, black-brown, pewter, pure white, soft white, silver, stone, taupe, icy colors, coral, shocking pink, hot pink, deep rose, ruby red, clear red, true red, blue-red, raspberry, fuchsia, magenta, cranberry, burgundy, aubergine, mango, gold, lemon yellow, bright golden yellow, mint green, true green, emerald turquoise, emerald green, pine green, turquoise, true blue, royal blue, clear teal, medium blue, bright periwinkle, sapphire blue, hot turquoise, periwinkle, navy blue, purple and violet. Charcoal, navy and deep plum are good eye makeup colors. Bright pink lips with these eye makeup shades creates a striking look is these. Now onto the bad colors.
