Hey folks! Here's my take on the Martinsville weekend. The Xfinity series no longer goes to Martinsville, but Trucks and Cup do.
Saturday was the Truck race. Polesitter Joey Logano won with 150 laps led, followed by Matt Crafton with 100 laps led, Erik Jones with 2 laps led, Johnny Sauter and Tyler Reddick. Rounding out the top-10 were Daniel Suarez, James Buescher, John Wes Townley, Matt Tift and rookie Justin Boston. Cole Custer led 2 laps and finished 16th. Mason Mingus led 4 laps and finished 22nd. No one crashed out, but there was a lot of contact between trucks. "Beatin' and bangin'" as they say about short tracks. Martinsville debuted a new hot dog this year. The track is known for its hot dogs , as well as being the shortest track on the circuit and only track from the first year of NASCAR racing left on the national tour.
Sunday was the Cup race. Denny Hamlin won with 91 laps led, followed by Brad Keselowski with 18 laps led, Joey Logano with 108 laps led, Matt Kenseth with 11 laps led and David Ragan. Rounding out the top-10 were Martin Truex, Jr. with 23 laps led, Danica Patrick, Kevin Harvick with 154 laps led, Jeff Gordon with 21 laps led and Jamie McMurray. Kasey Kahne was 11th after leading 29 laps. Kurt led 21 laps before finishing 14th. Carl Edwards led 13 laps and finished 17th. Tony Stewart finished 20th after 8 laps led. Ryan Newman led 2 laps and finished 27th. Mike Bliss led 1 lap and finished 34th. Trevor Bayne improved from his first race at the track. In his return to Martinsville, he finished 18th on the lead after starting 36th, spinning and cutting a tire due to contact with Alex Bowman. Dale Earnhardt, Jr. was involved in a later race incident. Chase Elliott made his Cup debut and was off the track awhile due to radiator trouble. Nobody wrecked out, but many drivers were off the track to their incidents.

Fontana weekend
Hey folks! Here's my take on the Fontana weekend.
Saturday was the Xfinity race. Kevin Harvick won with 100 laps led, followed by Brendan Gaughan, polesitter Eric Jones with 4 laps led, Chase Elliott and Chris Buescher. Rounding out the top-10 were Brian Scott, Kyle Larson, Brad Keselowski with 1 lap led, Regan Smith with 4 laps led and Elliott Sadler. Rookie Darrell Wallace, Jr. led 3 laps and finished 12th. David Starr led 2 laps and was 15th. Denny Hamlin led 33 laps and finished 18th. Jeffrey Earnhardt led 3 laps and finished 28th. No one crashed out of this race.
Sunday was the Cup race. Brad Keselowski won with 1 lap led, followed by Kevin Harvick with 34 laps led, Kurt Busch with 65 laps led, Paul Menard and Ryan Newman. Rounding out the top-10 were Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Joey Logano, Martin Truex, Jr. with 5 laps led, Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon with 3 laps led. Carl Edwards led 1 lap and finished 13th. Denny Hamlin led 56 laps and finished 28th. Matt Kenseth led 43 laps and finished 31st. Alex Bowman led 1 lap and finished 33rd. Everybody was running at the finish, but there was some wrecking. Trevor Bayne and Sam Hornish, Jr. wrecked while racing to be the first car 1 lap down, which is the Lucky Dog position. There was a green-white-checkered finish. They had to attempt this twice, but the 2nd time, it went through.

Phoenix Weekend
Hey folks! Here's my take on the Phoenix weekend.
Saturday was the Xfinity race. Polesitter Joey Logano with 176 laps led, followed by Matt Kenseth with 14 laps led, Kevin Harvick, Austin Dillon with 4 laps led and Erik Jones. Rounding out the top 10 were Ty Dillon, Chase Elliott, Brendan Gaughan, Regan Smith and Brian Scott. Landon Cassill crashed out on lap 91 and was the only one to wreck out.
Sunday was the Cup race. Polesitter Kevin Harvick won with 224 laps led, followed by Jamie McMurray with 1 lap led, Ryan Newman, Kasey Kahne and Kurt Busch. Rounding out the top-10 were Brad Keselowski with 52 laps led, Martin Truex, Jr, Joey Logano with 35 laps led, Jeff Gordon and Kyle Larson. Tony Stewart was 39th after a lap 282 crash. Dale Earnhardt, Jr., was 43rd after a crash that ended his race on lap 179. Ricky Stenhouse, Jr., was 12th, so he was the best Roush driver in the race. Roush has been struggling still this year because they have been using 2014 cars, but it's floating around they will use 2015 cars starting at Texas. It's hard for someone like me to see Roush's struggles because I'm a huge Trevor fan. Before I woke up on race day, I had dream he and Joey, another favorite of mine both had a good race at some track. I'm tired of Trevor having an ill-handling car, like he did at Phoenix. His car was loose, which means the car has less grip than it should.

Las Vegas Weekend
Hey folks! Here's my take on the Las Vegas race weekend. Trucks were off this time, but the other series raced.
Saturday was the Xfinity race. Pole sitter Austin Dillon won with 183 laps led, followed by Ryan Blaney with 2 laps led, Regan Smith, Denny Hamlin with 1 lap led and Chase Elliott with 1 lap led. Rounding out the top 10 were Brendan Gaughan with 3 laps led, rookie Darrell Wallace, Jr., Ty Dillon, Brennan Poole and rookie Daniel Suarez with 3 laps led. Erik Jones led 7 laps and was 29th after an accident on lap 172. Dakoda Armstrong wrecked on lap 164. Mario Gosselin wrecked on laps 154. Blake Koch had an accident on lap 52. Mike Bliss crashed out on lap 12.
Sunday was the Cup race. Kevin Harvick won with 142 laps led, followed by Martin Truex, Jr. with 3 laps led, Ryan Newman with 14 laps led, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. with 4 laps led and Denny Hamlin. Rounding out the top 10 were AJ Allmendinger, Brad Keselowski with 9 laps led, Kyle Larson, Matt Kenseth with 1 lap led and Joey Logano with 47 laps led. No one wrecked out, but some drivers had a stint in the garage. Jimmie Johnson led 45 laps, but finished 41st with 236 laps completed because he was off the track for a time. Carl Edwards led 2 laps, but finished 42nd with 227 laps complete because he was in the garage awhile. Edit: I saw it somewhere Roush would run new cars starting with this race, but more recently, someone said Texas is when that happens.

Atlanta Weekend
Hey folks! Here's my take on the Atlanta weekend.
Friday was the Truck race. Matt Crafton won with 85 laps led, followed by Ty Dillon, polesitter Ben Kennedy with 1 lap led, Daniel Suarez with 1 lap led and Tyler Reddick. Rounding out the top 10 were Johnny Sauter, rookie Erik Jones with 37 laps led, James Buescher, Timothy Peters and Joe Nemechek. Brad Keselowski led 6 laps was 15th. Mason Mingus was 28th to an accident that ended his day after 16 laps. Rookie Cody Ware was 30th due to an accident after 14 laps.
Saturday was the Xfinity race. Kevin Harvick won with 101 laps led, followed by polesitter Joey Logano with 59 laps led, Ty Dillon, Chris Buescher and Chase Elliott. Rounding out the top 10 were Paul Menard, Brian Scott, Matt Kenseth with 6 laps led, Regan Smith and Kyle Larson. Jeffrey Earnhardt spun on lap 8, but no one wrecked out. Rookie Cale Conley was 35th after a blown engine on lap 9. This was a pretty uneventful race.

Jimmie Johnson won with 92 laps led, followed by Kevin Harvick was 116 laps led, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. with 1 lap led, pole-sitter Joey Logano with 84 laps led and Matt Kenseth with 10 laps led. Rounding out the top 10 were Martin Truex, Jr., AJ Allmendinger, Brett Moffit with 1 lap led, Brad Keselowski with 2 laps led and Ryan Newman. David Gilliland led 1 lap and finished 22nd. Clint Bowyer led 1 lap and finished 24th. Mike Bliss led 2 laps and finished 31st. Joe Nemechek led 1 lap and finished 33rd. Denny Hamlin led 14 laps and finished 38th. Late in the race Greg Biffle hit Nemechek and many other drivers, including Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. whose day ended after 302 laps. Jeff Gordon and Jamie McMurray wrecked out on lap 256. Trevor Bayne was the best Roush driver of the day with a 19th place finish. It would fit if he won a race later on this month because March is MS month. He should have an orange ribbon on his car or whatever this month since many people want him to raise MS awareness.
