Michigan and Texas Weekend
Hey folks! Here's my take on the Michigan and Texas weekend. The Trucks raced at Texas and the rest were at Michigan.
Saturday was the Truck race at Texas. Rookie William Byron won with 6 laps led, followed by Matt Crafton with 133 laps led, pole-sitter Johnny Sauter with 9 laps led, Ben Kennedy and Tyler Reddick. Rounding out the top-10 were Timothy Peters, John H. Nemechek, German Quiroga, rookie Rico Abreu and Daniel Hemric with 19 laps led. Mike Bliss was 28th after an accident on lap 92. No one else wrecked out.
Saturday was also the Xfinity race at Michigan. Daniel Suarez won with 4 laps led, followed by Kyle Busch with 88 laps led, Paul Menard with 1 lap led, rookie Erik Jones with 18 laps led and Elliott Sadler with 2 laps led. Rounding out the top-10 were Joey Logano, pole-sitter Alex Bowman with 11 laps led, Justin Allgaier, Darrell Wallace, Jr. and rookie Brandon Jones. J. J. Yeley was 20th with 1 lap led. Chris Cockrum was 35th due to an accident on lap 9. No one else wrecked out.
Sunday was the Cup race. Joey Logano won from the pole with 138 laps led, followed by rookie Chase Elliot with 35 laps led, Kyle Larson with 1 lap led, Brad Keselowski with laps led and Kevin Harvick. Rounding out the top-10 were Carl Edwards, Tony Stewart, Austin Dillon, Jamie McMurray and Kurt Busch. Ryan Newman led 1 lap and was 11th. Martin Truex, Jr. was 12th after 10 laps led. Jimmie Johnson was 16th after leading 4 laps. Paul Menard led 1 lap and was 18th. Denny Hamlin was 33rd due to an accident on lap 188. Matt DiBenedetto was 34th after crashing out on lap 185. Rookie Brian Scott had an accident on lap 154 and was 36th. Rookie Jeffrey Earnhardt was 37th after an accident on lap 101. A. J. Allemndinger crashed out on lap 62 and was 38th. Dale Earnhardt, Jr. was 39th due to an accident after 61 laps.
