Hey folks! Here's my take on the Bristol night races. Penske drivers won all three races, though the Truck winner drove his own truck. He's a Penske driver on the other levels.
Wednesday was when the Truck race was supposed to be, but rain delayed it to Thursday. Brad Keselowski won with 119 laps led, followed by Darrell Wallace, Jr., Ron Hornaday, Jr., Matt Crafton and Johnny Sauter. Rounding out the top-10 were John Nemechek, Joey Coulter, Cole Custer, Ben Rhodes and Corey Lajoie. Pole-sitter Kyle Busch led the other 81 laps but got some laps down after he led and finished 24th.
Friday was the Nationwide race. Ryan Blaney won with 7 laps led, followed by pole-sitter Kyle Busch with 161 laps led, rookie Chase Elliot with 59 laps led, rookie Ty Dillon and Regan Smith. Rounding out the top-10 were Brendan Gaughan, Kevin Harvick, Erik Jones, James Buescher and rookie Chris Buescher. Kyle Larson led 46 laps, but was 26th due to an accident late in the race. Elliott Sadler led 27 laps but was relegated to 29th due to an accident. Trevor Bayne, the track's hometown boy, as he's from Knoxville, 1.5 hours away and the nearest metropolitan area to the track, was 13th. He was in the top-20 the whole race to my knowledge, most of the time top-15, even in the top-10 as high as 8th. He got to see the back home people, being so near his hometown.
Saturday was the Cup race. Joey Logano, my favorite Cup driver, won with 76 laps led, followed by his teammate, Brad Keselowski with 46 laps led, Matt Kenseth with 62 laps led, Jimmie Johnson and Kurt Busch. Rounding out the top-10 were Ricky Stenhouse, Jr., Carl Edwards, Jamie McMurray with 148 laps led, Paul Menard and Greg Biffle. Pole-sitter Kevin Harvick led 75 and finished 11th. Jeff Gordon led 17 laps and was 16th. Kasey Kahne led 40 laps before finishing 35th due to being off the track after an accident. Kyle Busch led 8 laps before an accident relegated him to 36th. Denny Hamlin led 28 laps before an accident relegated him to 40th. This one was on ABC so I could watch it. Joey has 3 wins now this year.

Michigan and Mid-Ohio Weekend
Hey folks! Here's my take on the Michigan and Mid-Ohio weekend. The Truck and Cup races were at Michigan and the Nationwide was at Mid-Ohio.
Friday was the Truck race at Michigan. Johnny Sauter won with 21 laps led, followed by Matt Crafton with 7 laps led, Ron Hornaday, Jr., Tayler Malsam and Kyle Busch with 14 laps led, Rounding out the top-10 were German Qurioga Timothy Peters, Jeb Burton, Joey Coulter and Joe Nemechek. Darrell Wallace, Jr. led 48 laps and finished 11th.Pole-sitter Ryan Blaney led 10 laps and finished 21st after he got 3 laps down somehow.
Saturday was the Nationwide race at Mid-Ohio, so it was a road race. Rookie Chris Buescher won with 25 led followed by Regan Smith, Brian Scott with 39 laps led, rookie Chase Elliot and Alex Tagliani. Rounding out the top-10 were Justin Marks, Elliott Sadler, rookie Dylan Kwansniewski, Trevor Bayne with 9 laps led and rookie Dakoda Armstrong. Brendan Gaughan led 5 laps and finished 20th. Pole-sitter Sam Hornish, Jr. led 12 laps and was relegated to 30 with engine trouble.

Watkins Glen Weekend+ an update from my life.
Hey folks! Here's my take on the Watkins Glen weekend. I've never been to the track, but as a kid I went to some camps down that way so I've been in the town. It's only a few hours from me, as I live in the same state, just in a more northern part of the state. The trucks were off this time.
Saturday was the Nationwide race. Marcos Ambrose won with 48 laps led, followed by Kyle Busch with 1 lap led, Joey Logano with 6 laps led, pole-sitter Brad Keselowski with 13 laps led and Matt Kenseth with 2 laps led. Rounding out the top-10 were rookie Chase Elliott, Elliott Sadler, rookie Ty Dillon, Paul Menard and Brian Scott. Mike Bliss led 1 lap and finished 14th. Jeremy Clements finished 16th with 1 lap led. Regan Smith was 17th with 2 laps led. Brendan Gaughan was 28th with 5 laps led. Trevor Bayne was 13th, though he had three accidents, two of which were due to circumstances beyond his control. Once someone hit him and the one with JJ Yeley was unavoidable. Yeley and Kevin O'Connell DNF'd, as they call it when drivers don't finish the race, but Kenny Habul was just lapped. Maybe the one that wasn't beyond his control, he got too aggressive. He's competitive and gets aggressive sometimes. He won a dirt track race the night before, at Yates County Speedway, which is only minutes from Watkins Glen. I joined a couple NASCAR groups on Facebook, Trevor fan groups. He was said to give an Advocare motivational speech by a member of one of these groups. The Nationwide race was ABC, so I got watch it and they said how the top-4 starter finished in the top-4 but inverted.

Rounding out the top-10 were Joey Logano, Kevin Harvick, Greg Biffle, Matt Kenseth, and Brian Vickers. This was 'Dinger's first Cup race win. Tony Stewart was replaced by Regan Smith as Stewart ran into Kevin Ward, Jr. a 20 year old at a sprint car race, which is open wheel at Canandaguia Speedway. He was devastated and couldn't race at Watkins Glen the next day. Kevin got out of his car after a wreck, mad at Stewart. He was wearing a black suit and helmet and so may have been hard for Stewart for see. There's some discussion as to whether or not Stewart meant to hit Kevin. He may have meant to get close to scare him or get him all dirty, but maybe not kill him. Never was a real Stewart fan, but I never hated him. I'm mad at him Temperamental Tony Stupid now. What Kevin did was stupid, too. Stewart let his anger get the best of him, possibly and Kevin got out of his car at a racetrack without being told he could. His car wasn't on fire and they maybe hadn't cautioned yet. My mom's mad at sprint car racing now, for that kid's death. That boy hadn't lived hardly yet. It's a dangerous sport, they say and this is proof of it.
My mom just needs some time to recover now. She can't do anything that puts pressure on her chest, but she's supposed to do things like climbing the wall. That's crawling your fingers up a wall, for those that don't know. She also does arm lifts when she's in bed. I have to vacuum and water her plants until she's recovered. I have a possible job opportunity with UPS. There's an office near where I live and they take folks with this organization that services the disabled in my area. They cover those with all sorts of disabilities, not just autism at the organization.

Iowa +Pocono weekend+ another slice of my life
Hey folks! Here's my take on the Iowa and Pocono races. Trucks and Cup were at Pocono and Nationwide was at Iowa.
Saturday afternoon was the Pocono Truck race. Austin Dillon won, with 23 laps led, followed by Johnny Sauter, Joey Coulter, Clint Bowyer with 10 laps led and Ryan Blaney. Rounding out the top-10 were Erik Jones, Ron Hornaday, Jr. with 2 laps led, Darrell Wallace, Jr., Justin Lofton and Joe Nemechek. Rookie Ben Kennedy led 6 laps before he finished 13th. Matt Crafton led 1 lap and finished 14th. Pole-sitter Kyle Larson led 21 laps and finished 18th. Tyler Reddick led 1 lap but was 23rd after being parked.

Brad Keselowski won with 146 laps led, followed by Michael McDowell with 1 lap led, pole-sitter Trevor Bayne with 31 laps led, Sam Hornish, Jr. with 65 laps led and rookie Ty Dillon. Rounding out the top-10 were Regan Smith, Brian Scott, rookie Chase Elliott, rookie Dylan Kwsaniewski and Elliot Sadler with 7 laps led. Trevor Bayne was the Dash 4 Cash winner and is now tied with Brian Scott in points. He's gained ground on the leader -63 to-41. Catching Scott allowed him to gain a spot in the standings as he has 1 more top-5. It's one of their tiebreakers. They use wins, if they can. Then, if they can't use that, they use how many top-5's they have. Elliott Sadler's ahead of Ty Dillon because Sadler has 2 more top-5's, as they have 1 win each and they're also tied in points.

My mom found out what was causing some of her issues and it's fixed now. She just needs to recover in other ways. It hurts for her to reach, so she has to climb the wall as therapy for that.

Mudsummer Classic night and Indianapolis Race Weekend + some of my life
Hey folks! Here's my take on the weirdest race week of the season. The Trucks raced on Wednesday this time.
Wednesday night was the Mudsummer Classic, a Truck dirt track race. Darrell Wallace, Jr. won with 97 laps led, Ron Hornaday, Jr. with 17 laps led, Ryan Blaney, Ken Schrader and Ty Dillon. Rounding out the top-10 were John Nemechek, Jeb Burton with 7 laps led, Johnny Sauter, Matt Crafton and Austin Dillon. Kyle Larson led 5 laps and was 26th after a late accident. Erik Jones led 24 but finished 29th due to suspension problems.

Rookie Ty Dillon won with 24 laps led, followed by Kyle Busch with 10 laps led, Matt Kenseth with 8 laps led, Kevin Harvick with 33 laps led and Joey Logano with 21 laps led. Rounding out the top-10 were Paul Menard, Brian Scott, Kyle Larson, Trevor Bayne and Regan Smith with 4 laps led. Trevor's cool box didn't work, which is probably particularly bad for him, heat and MS, not a good combo, but he seems ok. He's supposed to race this week.
Sunday was the Indy Cup race. Jeff Gordon won with 40 laps led, followed by Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin with 18 laps led, Matt Kenseth and Joey Logano with 10 laps led. Rounding out the top-10 were Kasey Kahne with 70 laps led, rookie Kyle Larson with 5 laps led, Kevin Harvick with 12 laps led, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and rookie Austin Dillon with 1 lap led. Clint Bowyer finished 16th with 3 laps led. Rookie Michael Annett was 31st with 1 lap led. Danica Patrick broke an axle and Trevor Bayne had an accident, hit the inside wall, due to a cut tire causing brake line issues, were the last two, as all the others were running at the finish. Carl Edwards will go to another team next year, so Greg Biffle, Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. and Trevor Bayne will be Roush's Cup drivers then, if all stays as it is. I reeeeeaallllllllllly hope Trevor's health holds, but I believe anything is possible.
My mom has to have some more fix surgery Thursday morning. Last week one part had healed but the other hadn't. They tried something late last week, but it apparently didn't work. This should be the last surgery, though. It's a woman thing, so I can't give too much detail. Last week's was outpatient and so is this one, though, so nothing major.

Chcagoland weekend+ a slice of my life
Hey folks! Here's my take on the standalone (the Cup was off) Nationwide race at Chicagoland. This was the only race in a series I blog about but the regional series NASCAR drivers were racing and ARCA, a NASCAR feeder series raced at Chicagoland. The regional series and ARCA races are on TV channels I don't get home, as we don't have cable TV. These means I don't know the drivers' names as good. Trucks are on cable TV, but some Cup drivers race in it, particularly if they own Truck teams or their Cup team's owner has Trucks.
Saturday night was the Nationwide race. Rookie Chase Elliott won with 85 laps led, followed by Trevor Bayne with 14 laps led, Kyle Larson with 23 laps led, Kasey Kahne with 3 laps led and rookie Ty Dillon. Rounding out the top-10 were Brian Scott with 20 laps led, Erik Jones with 2 laps led, Chris Buescher with 1 lap led, Ryan Blaney with 47 laps led and Elliott Sadler with 1 lap led. Dakoda Armstrong led 1 lap before a 20th place. James Buescher led 3 laps before he finished 23rd. Ty Dillon thinks the championship's "a four car race" and Trevor Bayne says it's a 6 car race. Trevor believes he has a shot and he's 6th in points. I think it's a four car race but not the way Ty does. Ty's four are Chase Elliott, Regan Smith, Elliott Sadler and himself. My four are Regan Smith, Elliott Sadler, Brian Scott and Trevor Bayne. The most points drivers can earn in a race is 48 and I feel any driver in the top 6 that's within 72 points of the leader has a shot. The high end 48-72's my long shot range, which Trevor at -50 falls into. 72> 50, so that's my logic. Chase and Ty are Rookie of the Year contenders. Rookies don't win championships, in my opinion.
My mom had some minor surgery to clean up the sites after one of her check-ups. There was some dead tissue there, but it's gone and she's recovering. She has another check-up tomorrow.

The most points drivers can earn in a race is 48 and I feel any driver in the top 6 that's within 72 points of the leader has a shot. The high end 48-72's my long shot range, which Trevor at -50 falls into. 72> 50, so that's my logic. Chase and Ty are Rookie of the Year contenders. Rookies don't win championships, in my opinion.
My mom had some minor surgery to clean up the sites after one of her check-ups. There was some dead tissue there, but it's gone and she's recovering. She has another check-up tomorrow.

Iowa and New Hampshire Weekend
Hey folks! Here's my take on the Iowa and New Hampshire race weekend. I don't live
Friday was the Truck race at Iowa. Erik Jones won with 131 laps led, followed by Ryan Blaney with 26 laps led, Matt Crafton, Joey Coulter and German Quiroga. Rounding out the top-10 were rookie Ben Kennedy, Jeff Choquette, Cole Custer, rookie Tyler Reddick and John Nememchek. Pole-sitter Darrell Wallace, Jr. led 41 laps and finished 13th. Chris Eggleston led 2 laps and was 19th.
Saturday was the Nationwide race at New Hampshire. Brad Keselowski won from the pole with 152 laps led, followed by Kyle Busch with 34 laps led, Matt Kenseth, Kyle Larson with 11 laps led and rookie Chris Buescher with 3 laps led. Rounding out the top-10 were Elliot Sadler, Brian Scott, rookie Chase Elliot, Trevor Bayne and Regan Smith. Trevor had a hard fight as he cut a tire due to an accident with Dylan Kwsaniewski and he had a little accident on a restart later. Trevor had to pit and they said it was cosmetic damage.
Sunday was the Cup race at New Hampshire. Brad Keselowski won with 138 laps led, followed by pole-sitter Kyle Busch with 62 laps led, rookie Kyle Larson with 14 laps led, Matt Kenseth with 12 laps led and Ryan Newman. Rounding out the top-10 were Clint Bowyer with 36 laps led, Tony Stewart, Denny Hamlin with 20 laps led, Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Kurt Busch led 1 lap before he finished 17th. Jeff Gordon was 26th with 19 laps led. Joey Logano led 3 laps but was 40th after a wreck with Morgan Shepherd.
