Kentucky Weekend

Hey folks! Here's my take on the Kentucky race weekend. All series raced this time.


Thursday was the Truck race. Pole sitter Matt Crafton won with 43 laps led, followed by rookie Erik Jones with 55 laps led, Ryan Blaney with 14 laps led, Daniel Suarez with 18 laps led and Timothy Peters. Rounding out the top-10 were Tyler Reddick with 13 laps led, David Gilliland, John Wes Townley, rookies Cameron Haley and Brandon Jones. John Hunter Nemechek led  1 lap and finished 11th. Rookie  Ray Black, Jr. led 1 lap and finished 13th. Ben Kennedy was 16th due to lap 145 crash. Rookie Spencer Gallagher was 24th after a wreck on lap 139. Caleb Holman was 27th after an accident on lap 124.
Friday night was the Xfinity race. Brad Keselowski won with 72 laps led, followed by Erik Jones with 22 laps led, Kyle Busch with 88 laps led, rookie Daniel Suarez and Elliott Sadler. Rounding out the top-10 were Paul Menard with 1 lap led, rookie Darrell Wallace, Jr. with 2 laps led, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Brendan Gaughan and Regan Smith. Ty Dillon led 15 laps and finished 15th. Pole-sitter JJ Yeley was 18th. John Wes Townley wrecked on lap 158 and finished 32nd. Derek White crashed on lap 75 and was 36th.
Saturday night was the Cup race. Kyle Busch won with 163 laps led, followed by Joey Logano with 23 laps led, Denny Hamlin with 13 laps led, Carl Edwards with 1 lap led and Matt Kenseth. Rounding out the top-10 were Brad Keselowski with 62 laps led, Jeff Gordon, Kevin Harvick, Jimmie Johnson and Kurt Busch. Ryan Newman led 2 laps and finished 20th. Alex Bowman finished 31st after leading 2 laps. Pole-sitter Kyle Larson finished 31st. Reed Sorenseon led 1 lap and finished 36th. Rookie Matt DiBenedetto was 42nd after a wreck on laps 148. Josh Wise crashed on lap 17 and was 43rd.

Daytona weekend

Hey folks! Here's my take on the Daytona night race weekend. The Trucks were off this time.












Saturday night was the Xfinity race. Austin Dillon won with 9 laps led, followed by Elliott Sadler, Chase Elliott, Kasey Kahne and Benny Gordon. Rounding out the top-10 were Dakoda Armstrong, David Ragan, Erik Jones, rookie Harrison Rhodes and rookie Ross Chastain with 1 lap led. Joey Logano led 4 laps and was 14th. Rookie Daniel Suarez, the pole-sitter led 6 laps and was 15th. Brian Scott led 84 laps and finished 23rd. David Starr was 29th after an accident on lap 96. Joey Gase wrecked on lap 95 and was 30th. Rookie Darrell Wallace, Jr., Aric Almirola and Brennan Poole wrecked out on lap 90 and were 34th, 35th and 36th, respectively. Scott Lagasse, Jr. was 37th after wrecking on lap 58. Derrike Cope was in a crash on lap 15 and was 38th.










Sunday night was the Cup race. Pole-sitter Dale Earnhardt, Jr. won with 96 laps led, followed by Jimmie Johnson with 35 laps led, Denny Hamlin with 10 laps led, Kevin Harvick and Kurt Busch. Rounding out the top-10 were Jeff Gordon, Austin Dillon with 8 laps led, Ryan Newman with 1 lap led, Trevor Bayne and Clint Bowyer with 1 lap led. Matt Kenseth led 1 lap and finished 23rd. Matt DiBenedetto and Brett Moffitt led 1 lap each, before finishing 26th and 27th. Sam Hornish, Jr. was 30th after crashing out on lap 154. Danica Patrick went 126 laps and before wrecking out and finishing 35th. Martin Truex, Jr. was 38th after crashing out on lap 105. Kyle Larson crashed on lap 103 and was relegated to 39th. Carl Edwards and Brian Scott crashed on lap 85 and finished  41st and 42nd, respectively. Bobby Labonte was 43rd after wrecking on lap 2.
