Chicagoland weekend

Hey folks! Here's my take on the Chicagoland weekend!


Saturday morning was the Truck race, which was rain delayed from Friday evening. John Hunter Nemechek won with 2 laps led, followed by Tyler Reddick with 1 lap led, Timothy Peters with 41 laps led, Daniel Suarez with 3 laps led and Johnny Sauter. Rounding out the top-10 were rookie Erik Jones, pole-sitter Kyle Larson with 41 laps led, rookie Spencer Gallagher, Matt Tift and John Wes Townley. Mason Mingus was 26th after an accident on lap 79.


Saturday night was the Xfinity race. Pole-sitter Kyle Busch won with 102 laps led, Matt Kenseth with 84 laps led, rookie Darrell Wallace, Jr. with 3 laps led, Paul Menard and Ty Dillon. Rounding out the top-10 were rookie Daniel Suarez with 2 laps led, Chris Buescher, Elliott Sadler, Regan Smith and Brendan Gaughan. John Wes Townley was 13th with 1 lap led. Rookie Ross Chastain led 1 lap and was 16th. Brian Scott was 17th after leading 7 laps. Ryan Blaney was 35th after an accident on lap 108.
Sunday was the Cup race. Denny Hamlin won with 9 laps led, followed by Carl Edwards with 6 laps led, Kurt Busch with 37 laps led, Ryan Newman and Matt Kenseth with 1 lap led. Rounding out the top-10 were Joey Logano with 1 lap led, Kyle Larson with 2 laps led, Brad Keselowski, Kyle Busch with121 laps led and Aric Almirola. Martin Truex, Jr led 39 laps and finished 13th.  Jeff Gordon was 14th with 41 laps led. Kevin Harvick, the pole-sitter led 10 laps, but was 42nd after an issue put him in the garage for awhile. No one wrecked out, though.

Richmond weekend


Hey folks! Here's my take on the Richmond weekend. The Trucks were off this time, but the other series raced.


Friday night was the Xfinity race. Chase Elliott won with 83 laps led, followed by pole-sitter Kyle Busch with 78 laps led, Brian Scott with 63 laps led, Joey Logano and Erik Jones. Rounding out the top-10 were Regan Smith with 60 laps led, Josh Berry, Ty Dillon, Austin Dillon and Chris Buescher. Rookie Ross Chastain was 15th with 4 laps led. Ryan Truex was 31st in his return to the Xfinity series, due to an accident on lap 216. Jeremy Clements crashed out on lap 133 and was 34th. Ryan Ellis led 2 laps before a vibration relegated him to 35th. David Starr had an accident on lap 16 and was 37th. Benny Gordon wrecked out on lap 3 and was 38th. Jimmy Weller was 39th due to crashing out on lap 2.


Saturday night was when the Cup was scheduled, but rain delayed it to Sunday. Matt Kenseth won with 352 laps led, followed by Kyle Busch with 9 laps led, pole-sitter Joey Logano with 25 laps led, Aric Almirola and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Rounding out the top-10 were Denny Hamlin with 14 laps led, Jeff Gordon. Brad Keselowski, Jimmie Johnson and Clint Bowyer. Michael McDowell was 42nd after crashing out on lap 287. Michael Annett had an accident on lap 145 and was 43rd. The Chase field was set and the drivers that made it in were Kevin Harvick, Joey Logano, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. , Brad Keselowski, Jimmie Johnson, Matt Kenseth, Martin Truex, Jr., Denny Hamlin, Kurt Busch, Jamie McMurray, Carl Edwards, Ryan Newman, Clint Bowyer, Paul Menard and Kyle Busch.

Darlington Weekend

Hey folks! Here's my take on the Darlington weekend. The Trucks were off this time, but Xfinity and Cup raced.










Saturday night was the Xfinity race. Denny Hamlin, the pole-sitter, won with 117 laps led, followed by Kyle Busch, rookie Daniel Suarez with 14 laps led, Kevin Harvick with 16 laps and Chris Buescher. Rounding out the top-10 were Joey Logano, Kyle Larson, Landon Cassill, Regan Smith and rookie Ross Chastain. Carlos Contreas was 37th due to a crash on lap 10.










Sunday night was the Cup race. Carl Edwards won with 15 laps led, followed by pole-sitter Brad Keselowski with 196 laps led, Denny Hamlin with 57 laps led, Joey Logano with 29 laps led and Kevin Harvick with 44 laps led. Rounding out the top-10 were Kurt Busch with 7 laps led, Kyle Busch with 3 laps led, Dale Earnhardt, Jr, Martin Truex, Jr. and Kyle Larson with 3 laps led. Kasey Kahne led 2 laps and was 12th. Tony Stewart was 15th with 10 laps led. David Gilliland was 27th after leading 1 lap. David Ragan was 40th due to a wreck on lap 275. Chase Elliott was 41st after crashing on lap 227. Danica Patrick had an accident on lap 190 and was 42nd.  Cole crashed out on lap 5 and was 43rd.

Canadian Tire and Road America Weekend

Hey folks! Here's my take on the Canadian Tire and Road America weekend. The Cup was off this time.


Sunday was the Truck race at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park. Rookie Erik Jones won with 19 laps led, followed by Matt Crafton with 1 lap led, Ben Kennedy, rookie Daniel Hemric and pole-sitterr Alex Tagliani with 8 laps led.  Rounding out the top-10 were Johnny Sauter, rookie Cameron Haley with 13 laps led, rookie Spencer Gallagher, rookie John H. Nemechek and Cole Custer with 22 laps led. T. J. Bell led 1 lap and finished 13th. Rookie Brandon Jones crashed after 43 laps and was 26th.


Saturday was the Xfinity race at Road America. Paul Menard won with 9 laps led, followed by Ryan Blaney, Brian Scott with 3 laps led, Chase Elliott with 23 laps led and Darrell Wallace, Jr. Rounding out the top-10 were Boris Said, Justin Marks, Regan Smith Chris Buescher and Ty Dillon with 1 lap led. Brendan Gaughan led 4 laps and was 16th. Blake Koch was 21st with 5 laps led.

Bristol Weekend

Hey folks! Here's my take on the Bristol night race weekend. All three series raced this time.




Wednesday night was the Truck race. Ryan Blaney won with 40 laps led, followed by pole-sitter Kyle Busch with 4 laps led, rookies John H. Nemechek, Daniel Hemric and Brandon Jones with 1 lap led. Rounding the top-10 were rookie Erik Jones, Matt Crafton with 39 laps led, Tyler Reddick, Johnny Sauter with 7 laps led and Dalton Sargeant. Cole Custer led 211 laps and finished 16th. Ty Dillon was 23rd after an accident on lap 194. Caleb Homan wrecked out on lap 112 and was 31st.






Friday night was the Xfinity race. Kyle Busch won with 89 laps led, followed by Kyle Larson, pole-sitter Denny Hamlin with 106 laps led, Ty Dillon and rookie Daniel Suarez. Rounding out the top-10 were Brian Scott, Chase Elliott, Kevin Harvick with 1 lap led, Regan Smith and Brendan Gaughan. Chris Buescher was 11th with 106 laps led. Elliott Sadler crashed out after 254 laps and was 31st. Dylan Kwasniewski was 32nd due to wrecking out after 253 laps. Rookie Harrison Rhodes had an accident on lap 247 and was 34th.


Saturday night was the Cup race. Joey Logano won with 176 laps led, followed by Kevin Harvick, pole-sitter Denny Hamlin with 54 laps led, Jimmie Johnson and Clint Bowyer. Rounding out the top-10 were Brad Keselowski with 4 laps led, Carl Edwards with 74 laps led, Kyle Busch with 192 laps led, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Ryan Newman. David Ragan was 40th after an accident on lap 443.  Kyle Larson wrecked on lap 356 and was 41st.

Michigan and Mid-Ohio Weekend

Hey folks! Here's my take on the Michigan and Mid-Ohio Weekend. The Xfinity was in Mid-Ohio and the others were in Michigan.




Saturday was the Truck race at Michigan. Kyle Busch won with 44 laps led, followed by Ryan Blaney with 8 laps led, rookie Erik Jones with 16 laps led, Johnny Sauter with 24 laps led and Austin Dillon with 4 laps led. Rounding out the top-10 were pole-sitter Matt Crafton, rookie Daniel Hemric with 4 laps led, Timothy Peters, Tyler Reddick and rookie Cameron Haley. Mason Mingus was 24th after wrecking on lap 87.  Ben Kennedy had an accident on lap 82 and was 25th.




Saturday was also the day of the Xfinity race at Mid-Ohio. Regan Smith won with 19 laps led, followed by Alex Tagliani with 38 laps led, Ty Dillon, Chris Buescher with 10 laps led and  Chase
Elliott with 4 laps led. Rounding out the top-10 were Elliott Sadler with 2 laps led, Brian Scott, Darrell Wallace, Jr. Dylan Lupton and Ben Rhodes. Boris Said was 13th after leading 2 laps. No one wrecked out.


Sunday was the Cup race at Michigan. Matt Kenseth, the pole-sitter, won with 146 laps led, followed by Kevin Harvick with 15 laps led, Martin Truex, Jr., Austin Dillon with 19 laps led and Denny Hamlin. Rounding out the top-10 were Carl Edwards with 5 laps led, Joey Logano, Ryan Newman, Brad Keselowski and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Kyle Busch was 11th after leading 10 laps. Aric Almirola led 3 laps and was 14th. Jeff Gordon was 17th with 1 lap led. Clint Bowyer led 1 lap, but was 41st due to spending time off track because of a race incident with Brad Keselowski.
