Matinsville Weekend

Hey folks! Here's my take on the Martinsville. The Nationwide was off, but will return to action at the next race, Texas. Trucks and Cup raced this time.








Saturday was the Truck race. Darrell Wallace, Jr. won with 97 laps led, followed by Timothy Peters, Matt Crafton with 24 laps led, Erik Jones and Ryan Blaney with 17 laps led. Rounding out the top-10 were rookie Tyler Reddick, Johnny Sauter with 41 laps led, Matt Tift, Alex Guenette and German Quiroga. Austin Hill led 21 laps and finished 26th.


Sunday was the Cup race. Dale Earnhardt, Jr. won with 79 laps led, followed by Jeff Gordon with 130 laps led, Ryan Newman, Tony Stewart with 18 laps and Joey Logano with 60 laps led. Rounding out the top-10 were Matt Kenseth with 2 laps led,  Clint Bowyer with 33 laps led, Denny Hamlin with 68 laps led, AJ Allmendinger and David Ragan. Jamie McMurray was 16th with 84 laps led. Rookie Justin Allgaier was 17th with 4 laps led. David Gilliland led 1 lap and was 22nd. Kurt Busch led 21 laps, but was relegated to a 36th place finish after time off the track from a race problem.
