Dover Weekend

Hey folks! Here's my take on the Dover weekend. All three series raced this time.






Friday evening was the Truck race. Tyler Reddick won with 40 laps led, followed by Daniel Suarez, rookie Erik Jones with 50 laps led, rookie Daniel Hemric and Matt Crafton with 3 laps led. Rounding out the top-10 were Ben Kennedy, pole sitter Ryan Blaney with 33 laps led, rookie Brandon Jones, Johnny Sauter and Tyler Young. Rookie Ray Black, Jr. was 11th with one lap led.  Cole Custer led 67 laps and was 13th. Timothy Peters and rookie Cameron Hayley led five laps and 1 lap but finished 20th and 21st, respectively after  Peters wrecked on lap 136 and Hayley was off the track for a time. Ryan Ellis crashed on lap 90.  Rookie Justin Boston wrecked out on lap 65.  Justin Jennings wrecked after running 33 laps. Mason Mingus and Jesse Little crashed after 32 laps. Jennifer Jo Cobb ran 12 laps before her day was done due to an accident.






Saturday was the Xfinity race.  Chris Buescher won with 10 laps led, followed by Matt Kenseth with 51 laps led, Regan Smith, Austin Dillon with 17 laps led and Kasey Kahne.  Rounding out the top-10 were Chase Elliott, Brendan Gaughan, Ty Dillon, Erik Jones with 70 laps led and Jeremy Clements.  Pole-sitter Darrell Wallace, Jr. led 52 laps and finished 17th.  Blake Koch was 30th due to an accident on lap 171. Rookie Cole Conley wrecked out on lap135 and was 33rd.  Brian Scott crashed out on lap 63 and was 36th. Jamie Dick had an accident after 62 laps and was 37th.


Sunday was the Cup race. Jimmie Johnson won with 23 laps led, followed by Kevin Harvick with 91 laps led,, Kyle Larson, Kasey Kahne and Aric Almirola. Rounding out the top-10 were Martin Truex, Jr. with 131 laps led, Jamie McMurray, Paul Menard, Clint Bowyer with 1 lap led and Jeff Gordon.  Brad Keselowski led 38 laps and finished 12th.  Dale Earnhardt, Jr. was 14th after leading 3 laps. Carl Edwards led 3 laps and finished 19th. Pole sitter Denny Hamlin led 118 laps and finished 21st.  Kyle Busch led 7 laps  before an accident relegated him to 36th. Brian Scott crashed out on lap 372.
