Road America and Sonoma Weekend+ a slice of my life

Hey folks! Here's my take on Road America and Sonoma race weekend. They're both road races. The Trucks were off this time.

Saturday was the Nationwide race at Road America.  They had a rain delayed start as it was too wet for dry tires but too dry for rain tires and had to put rain tires on the cars.  Rain tires are used at road races only.  Brendan Gaughan won with race for his dead grampa with 8 laps led, followed by Alex Tagliani with 10 laps led, Kevin O'Connell, rookie Chase Elliot and JJ Yely.  Rounding out the top-10 were Jeremy Clements, Andy Lally, Landon Cassill, Elliot Sadler and Mike Bliss. Sam Hornish, Jr. led  25 laps and finished 12th. Trevor Bayne led 1 lap, though he started 37th due to a tire change after he qualified and finished 27th after a late race incident with rookie Ty Dillon.

Sunday was the Cup race at Sonoma. Carl Edwards won with 26 laps led, followed by Jeff Gordon with 3 laps led, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Jamie McMurray with 9 laps led and Paul Menard.  Rounding out the top-10 were Kasey Kahne, Jimmie Johnson with 1 lap led, Marcos Ambrose with 5 laps led,  Greg Biffle and Clint Bowyer with 5 laps. Joey Logano led 3 laps and finished 16th. Kevin Harvick was 20th after he led 23 laps. AJ Allmendinger was 37th after 35 laps led.

My mom had a check-up today. She's having some small complications and will have treatment when she's healed up.  One of her doctors will see her Thursday.
