All-Star Weekend

Hey folks! Here's my take on the All-Star Weekend. The Xfinity series was off, but the Trucks and Cup raced at Charlotte.

Saturday was the Truck race. Matt Crafton won with 47 laps led, followed by Kyle Busch with 27 laps led, Johnny Sauter with 1 lap led, Tyler Reddick and Matt Tifft.  Rounding out the top-10 were Spencer Gallagher, Timothy Peters, rookie Christopher Bell, Daniel Hemric with 15 laps led and pole-sitter rookie William Byron with 25 laps led. Rookie Rico Abreu led 1 lap before finishing 20th.  Daniel Suarez led 6 laps before finishing 23rd.   Tommy Joe Martins led 1 lap and finished 25th. Andy Seuss was 32th due to an accident on lap 20 and was the only one to crash out.

The Showdown was scheduled for Friday, but rain delayed it to Saturday before the Truck race. Kyle Larson was the Segment 3 winner with 10 laps led, followed by  Greg Biffle, who won Segment 2 with 15 laps led, Trevor Bayne, the Segment 1 winner with 1 lap led,  pole-sitter rookie Chase Elliot with 19 laps led, rookie Ryan Blaney and A. J. Allmendinger. Rounding out the top-10 were Landon Cassill, Clint Bowyer, Casey Mears, Danica Patrick and Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. The segment winners are co-holders of 1st place and the ones from Chase Elliott to Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. are 2nd-10th. Austin Dillon was 12th with 5 laps led. No one crashed out
