Dover & Las Vegas Weekend


Hey folks! Here's my take on the Dover and Las Vegas weekend. The Trucks raced at Vegas and the others raced at Dover.

Saturday was the Xfinity race's original day, but rain pushed it to Sunday before the Cup race. Daniel Suarez won with 123 laps led, followed by Ty Dillon, Justin Allgaier with 3 laps led, Ryan Blaney and Alex Bowman. Rounding out the top-10 were Corey Lajoie with 1 lap led, Elliott Sadler with 3 laps led,  JJ Yeley, Brendan Gaughan and Ryan Reed.  Blake Koch led 15 laps and finished 14th.  Rookie Erik Jones, the pole-sitter, led 54 laps and finished 16th.   Rookie Ray Black, Jr. finished 24th after leading 1 lap.  Justin Marks was 31st due to an accident on lap 137.   Ryan Ellis was 36th after crashing out on lap 58.  Matt DiBenedetto wrecked out after 1 lap and was 40th.

Saturday night was the Las Vegas Truck race.  Tyler Reddick won with 70 laps led, followed by Daniel Hemric with 38 laps led, rookie Cole Custer with 3 laps led, Ben Kennedy with 22 laps led and rookie William Byron.  Rounding out the top-10 were rookie Christopher Bell,  Johnny Sauter, Matt Crafton, Timothy Peters, the pole-sitter, with 13 laps led and rookie Grant Enfinger. Wayne Edwards was 28th due to an accident on lap 48. No one else crashed out.

Sunday was the Cup race.  Martin Truex, Jr won with 187 laps led, followed by Kyle Busch with 102 laps led, Chase Elliott, pole-sitter Brad Keselowski with 7 laps led and Matt Kenseth.  Rounding out the top-10 were Joey Logano, Jimmie Johnson with 90 laps led, Austin Dillon, Denny Hamlin and Jeff Gordon with 7 laps led.  Greg Biffle led 7 laps and was 18th. No one crashed out.
