Kansas Weekend


Hey folks! Here's my take on the Kansas weekend.

Friday night was the Truck race. Rookie William Byron won with 2 laps led, followed by Matt Crafton with 57 laps led, Daniel Hemric, rookie Christopher Bell with 5 laps led and Clint Bowyer. Rounding out the top-10 were Ryan Truex, rookie Cole Custer Timothy Peters with 1 lap led,  Ben Kennedy and Spencer Gallagher.  Tyler Reddick led 56 laps and was 13th.  Johnny Sauter led 9 laps and was 16th. Rookie Ben Rhodes was 18th with 5 laps led.  Cameron Haley was 19th after leading 2 laps. Pole-sitter John Wes Townley was 26th after leading 1 lap. Jordan Anderson was 29th due to an accident on lap 82.  Parker Kligerman crashed out on lap 48 and was 31st.

Sunday was the Cup race. Kyle Busch won with 69 laps led, followed by Kevin Harvick, Kurt Busch, Matt Kenseth with 3 laps led and rookie Ryan Blaney. Rounding out the top-10 were Austin Dillon, Ryan Newman, AJ Allmendinger, rookie Chase Elliott and Brad Keselowski with 3 laps led. Tony Stewart led 12 laps and finished 12th.  Pole-sitter Martin Truex Jr. was 14th with 172 laps led.  Danica Patrick led 2 laps before finishing 20th. Regan Smith was 23rd with 1 lap led. David Ragan was 29th after 1 lap led. Matt DiBenedetto was 30th after leading 1 lap. Kyle Larson had an accident after 252 laps and was 35th. Denny Hamlin crashed out on lap 240 and was 37th. Joey Logano led 3laps before wrecking on lap 240 relegated him to 38th.
