Kentucky Weekend


Hey folks! Here's my take on the Kentucky weekend. All series raced this time.

Thursday night was the Truck race. Rookie William Byron won with 70 laps led, followed by John H. Nemechek, Daniel Hemric, rookie Christopher Bell and Johnny Sauter with 14 laps led,  Rounding out the top-10 were Cameron Hayley, Brandon Jones, Matt Crafton, Timothy Peters with 5 laps led and Tyler Reddick with 1 lap led.  Pole-sitter Daniel Suarez was 11th after leading 59 laps. Tommy Joe Martins led 1 lap, but was 26th due to overheating on lap 107.  Kyle Busch was 30th due to an accident on lap 56. No one else wrecked out.

Friday night was the Xfinity race. Kyle Busch won from the pole with 185 laps led, followed by Austin Dillon, Daniel Suarez, rookie Erik Jones with 3 laps led and Darrell Wallace, Jr.  Rounding out the top-10 were Elliott Sadler, Ty Dillon with 10 laps led, Ryan Blaney, rookie Brennan Poole and Brad Keselowski.  Rookie Ray Black, Jr. was 19th after leading 1 lap.  Ross Chastain led 1 lap and was 22nd.  Jeff Green led 1 lap and was 33rd due to transmission issues.  No one crashed out.

Saturday night was the Cup race.  Brad Keselowski won with 75 laps led, followed by Carl Edwards, Ryan Newman, Kurt Busch with 10 laps and Tony Stewart.  Rounding out the top-10 were Greg Biffle, Jamie McMurray, Matt Kenseth with 2 laps led, pole-sitter Kevin Harvick with 128 laps led and Martin Truex, Jr with 46 laps led.  Austin Dillon was 16th with 1 lap led.  Danica Patrick led 2 laps and was 17th.  David Ragan was 22nd with 2 laps led.  Ty Dillon led 1 lap and was 25th.  Jimmie Johnson was 32rd due to an accident on lap 208.  Brian Scott crashed out on lap 151 and was 33rd.  Regan Smith was 34th due to wrecking out after 150 laps.  AJ Allmendinger crashed out on lap 103 and was 36th.  Rookie Chris Buescher was 37th due to an accident on lap 92.  Matt DiBenedetto crashed out on lap 79 and was 38th.  Joey Logano had an accident on lap 52 and was 39th.  Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. was 40th due to crashing out on lap 9.
