Martinsville Weekend

Hey folks! Here's my take on the Martinsville weekend. The Xfinity was off this weekend.




Saturday was the Truck race. Kyle Busch won with 123 laps led, followed by John  H. Nemechek, rookie William Byron, Kyle Larson with 79 laps led and Timothy Peters. Rounding out the top-10 were Spencer Gallagher, Matt Crafton, Parker Kligerman, Cameron Haley with 11 laps led and rookie Rico Abreu. Polesitter rookie Ben Rhodes led 42 laps and was 16th.  Justin Haley was 26th due to crashing out after 244 laps.  Spencer Boyd was 28th after an accident on lap 237.  Rookie Cole Custer was in an accident on lap 235, which left him 29th.   Kaz Grela crashed out on lap 91 and was 31st.  Johnny Sauter was 32nd due to an accident on lap 43.






Sunday was the Cup race. Kyle Busch won with 352 laps led, followed by AJ Allmendinger, Kyle Larson, Austin Dillon and Brad Keselowski. Rounding out the top-10 were Carl Edwards, Brian Vickers, Paul Menard with 10 laps led, Jimmie Johnson and Ryan Newman. Pole-sitter Joey Logano was 11th after leading 21 laps. Matt Kenseth was 15th with 45 laps led.  Kevin Harvick led 72 laps and was 17th. Denny Hamlin was 39th due to an accident on lap 221. No one else wrecked out, but Josh Wise and Aric Almirola had engine problems.
