Kentucky and New Hampshire Weekend


Hey folks! Here's my take on the Kentucky and New Hampshire weekend. The Trucks and Cup raced at New Hampshire and the Xfinity was at Kentucky.

Saturday was the Truck race. Rookie William Byron won from the pole with 161 laps led, followed by rookie Chistopher Bell with 11 laps led, Matt Crafton, Tyler Reddick and Timothy Peters.  Rounding out the top-10 were rookie Cole Custer, Kaz Grala, Brett Moffitt, John H. Nemechek and Johnny Sauter.  Rookie Cody Coughlin was 20th after 3 laps led. Daniel Hemric was 28th after an accident on lap 157. Rookie Austin Wayne Self was 29th due to an accident after 156 laps.  Caleb Roark was 32nd after crashing out on the first lap.

Saturday night was the Xfinity race at Kentucky Speedway.  Elliott Sadler won with 11 laps led, followed by Daniel Suarez, Ryan Blaney with 10 laps led, Sam Hornish, Jr. and Matt Tifft with 2 laps led. Rounding out the top-10 were Brendan Gaughan with 19 laps led,  Ryan Reed, Darrell Wallace, Jr., Justin Allgaier and rookie Brennan Poole.  Rookie Ray Black, Jr. was 20th with 1 lap led.  Ty Dillon led  47 laps before an accident on lap 188 relegated him to 27th.  Rookie Erik Jones, the pole-sitter, led 100 laps before an accident on lap 187 relegated him to 28th.  Derrike Cope was 29th due to an accident on lap 168.  Blake Jones was 35th after crashing out on lap 73.

Sunday was the Cup race. Kevin Harvick won with 8 laps led, followed by Matt Kenseth with 105 laps led, Kyle Busch with 3 laps led, Brad Keselowski with 2 laps led and Kurt Busch.  Rounding out the top-10 were pole-sitter Carl Edwards with 31 laps led, Martin Truex, Jr. with 141 laps led, Jimmie Johnson, Kasey Kahne and Kyle Larson.  Rookie Chase Elliott led 1 lap and finished 13th.  Danica Patrick finished 18th after leading 9 laps.  Trevor Bayne was 38th due to an accident on lap 282. N one else crashed out.
