Charlotte Weekend


Hey folks! Here's my take on the Charlotte weekend. The Trucks were off this time.

Saturday was the Xfinity race.  Denny Hamlin won with 76 laps led, followed by Austin Dillon, Joey Logano with 58 laps led, Cole Custer with 1 lap led and Justin Allgaier.  Rounding out the top-10 were Kyle Larson with 47 laps led, rookie Brandon Jones, Ty Dillon, rookie Brennan Poole and Brendan Gaughan. Daniel Suarez was 12th with 2 laps led. Ryan Blaney led 2 laps and was 16th. Ross Chastain was 17th with 1 lap led. Darrell Wallace, Jr. led 5 laps and was 27th. Pole-sitter Erik Jones led 14 laps before an accident relegated him to 31st.  Jeff Green led 1 lap and was 34th due to fuel pump issues. Mike Harmon was 35th due to an accident on lap 91. Rookie Cody Ware was 38th after crashing out on lap 12.

Sunday night was the Cup race. Martin Truex, Jr. won from the pole with 392 laps led, followed by Kevin Harvick, Jimmie Johnson with 5 laps led, Denny Hamlin and Brad Keselowski. Rounding out the top-10 were Kurt Busch, Matt Kenseth, rookie Chase Elliott, Joey Logano with 1 lap led and Ryan Newman. Paul Menard led 2 laps and was 17th. Kyle Busch was 33rd due to an accident on lap 392. No one else wrecked out.
