Charlotte Weekend


Hey folks! Here's my take on the Charlotte weekend. The Trucks were off this time.

Friday night was the Xfinity race's scheduled time, but it was rain delayed to Sunday. Joey Logano won with 12 laps led, followed by Elliott Sadler, Daniel Suarez, Kyle Larson, the pole-sitter, with 165 laps led and rookie Erik Jones with 21 laps led. Rounding out the top-10 were Justin Allgaier with 1 lap led, Kevin Harvick, Matt Tifft, Brad Keselowski and Ryan Sieg with 1 lap led. No one crashed out.

Saturday night was the Cup race's scheduled time, but it was rain delayed to Sunday.   Jimmie Johnson won with 155 laps led, followed by Matt Kenseth with 5 laps led, Kasey Kahne, Ryan Newman with 1 lap led and Kyle Larson. Rounding out the top-10 were Kyle Busch with 1 lap led, Brad Keselowski, Kurt Busch, Tony Stewart and Jamie McMurray.  Clint Bowyer finished 17th after leading 2 laps. Denny Hamlin led 52 laps before engine trouble on lap 308 relegated him to 30th.  Austin Dillon crashed out on lap 258 and finished 32nd.  Rookie Chase Elliott led 103 laps before that lap 258 accident relegated him to 33rd.  Paul Menard also crashed out on lap 258 and was 34th.   Greg Biffle was 35th due crashing out after 257 laps.  Joey Logano led 3 laps before time off track relegated him to 36th.  A. J. Allmendinger was 37th after wrecking out on lap 252.  Kevin Harvick, the pole-sitter, led 12 laps before an engine problem after 155 laps relegated him to 38th.  Alex Bowman and Casey Mears were 39th and 40th after an accident on lap 61.
