Pocono Weekend


Hey folks! Here's my take on the Pocono weekend. The Trucks were off this time. The Xfinity series had its first Pocono race.

Saturday was the Xfinity race. Kyle Larson won the rain shortened race with  27 laps led, followed by pole-sitter Erik Jones, Ty Dillon, Kyle Busch with 16 laps led and Joey Logano with 7 laps led. Rounding out the top-10 were Elliott Sadler, Paul Menard, rookie Brandon Jones, Daniel Suarez and Alex Bowman.  Aric Almirola led 2 laps and finished 12th.  Rookie Ray Black, Jr was 21st with 1 lap led. Jeremy Clements was 31st due to an accident on lap 39.  Ryan Reed was 33rd due to an accident on lap 38.  Justin Allgaier was 39the due to crashing out on lap 20.

Sunday was the Cup race's original time, but rain pushed it to Monday. Kurt Busch won with 32 laps led, followed by Dale Earnhardt, Jr. with 4 laps led, pole-sitter Brad Keselowski, rookie Chase Elliot with 51 laps led and Joey Logano with 17 laps led. Rounding out the top-10 were Kasey Kahne, Matt Kenseth with 31 laps led, Carl Edwards, Kevin Harvick with 9 laps led and rookie Ryan Blaney.  Kyle Larson was 11th after 8 laps led. A. J. Allmendinger led 2 laps and was 16th.  Ty Dillon was 21st with 3 laps led.  Kyle Busch led 3 laps and was 31st.  Jimmie Johnson was 35th due to an accident on lap 125.  Austin Dillon was 37th due to an accident on lap 117.  Michael Annett had an accident on lap 102 and was 38th. Matt DiBenedetto was 40th due to wrecking out on lap 57.
