Richmond Weekend


Hey folks! Here's my take on the Richmond weekend. The Trucks were off this time.

Friday night was the Xfinity race. Kyle Busch won with 197 laps led, followed by rookie Erik Jones with 2 laps led, Brad Keselowski, Elliott Sadler and Justin Allgaier.  Rounding out the top-10 were Ty Dillon, pole-sitter Austin Dillon with 51 laps led, Daniel Suarez, Alex Bowman and rookie Brennan Poole. No one crashed out.

Saturday night was the Cup race. Denny Hamlin won from the pole with 189 laps led, followed by Kyle Larson with 15 laps led, Martin Truex, Jr. with 193 laps led, Brad Keselowski and Kevin Harvick.  Rounding out the top-10 were Kasey Kahne, Jamie McMurray, Kurt Busch with 3 laps led, Kyle Busch and Joey Logano.  Jeffrey Earnhardt was 27th after leading 2 laps.  Regan Smith led 2 laps before an accident relegated him to 29th.  Tony Stewart was 33rd due to an accident on lap 363. David Ragan and rookie Brian Scott were 34th and 35th due to crashing out after 362 laps.  Matt DiBenedetto was 37th due to an accident after 352 laps.  Matt Kenseth led 3 laps before an accident relegated him to 38th. Paul Menard was 40th due to an accident on lap 264.
