Kansas Weekend


Hey folks! Here's my take on the Kansas weekend. The Trucks were off this weekend, but the others raced.

Saturday was the Xfinity race. Kyle Busch won from the pole with 150 laps led, followed by Elliott Sadler, Daniel Suarez with 6 laps led, Joey Logano with 2 laps led and Kyle Larson. Rounding out the top-10 were Regan Smith with 16 laps led, rookie Brennan Poole, rookie Brandon Jones, Blake Koch and JJ Yeley.  Ty Dillon finished 12th after leading 12 laps.  Rookie Erik Jones finished 15th after leading 11 laps.  Darrell Wallace, Jr led 3 laps before an accident on lap 165 relegated him to 33rd.  Ryan Seig and Cole Custer were 34th and 35th, respectively after wrecking on lap 162.

Sunday was the Cup race. Kevin Harvick won with 74 laps led, followed by Carl Edwards with 61 laps led, Joey Logano with 2 laps led, Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Busch. Rounding out the top-10 were Austin Dillon with 2 laps led, Alex Bowman, A.J. Allmendinger, pole-sitter Matt Kenseth with 116 laps led and Kasey Kahne.  Kurt Busch led 1 lap and finished 13th. Denny Hamlin finished 15th after leading 1 lap.  Casey Mears led 5 laps and finished 23rd.  Chase Elliott finished 31st after leading 4 laps.  Brad Keselowski led 1 lap before an accident on lap 190 relegated him to 38th.  Josh Wise was 39th due to an accident on lap 108.  Aric Almirola was 40th due to an accident on lap 36.
